Earth Energy EV is also planning expanding its distributor network in a phased manner in the next five years.
Mumbai-based electric vehicle (EV) start-up Earth Energy EV has received orders for over 37,000 units from its distributors across 10 states in India. The company appointed distributors across these 10 Indian states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa. According to Earth Energy, the company expects to grow exponentially in the next five years, and to meet that demand, the company is also planning to expand its distributor network in a phased manner in these five years.
Rushii Senghani, CEO and Founder, Earth Energy, said, “We are focused on providing the commuters with a quality offering which is reliable with little to no downtime with regard to availability of spares. In this regard we have achieved 96 per cent localisation of all components including powertrain, structural and dynamic components, etc. In the last six months we have worked hard to set up our localised vendors, supply chain and distribution network and will be available across most markets by the middle of 2022. Our manufacturing is being optimised and we can manufacture 46,000 vehicles per annum using two production lines. We have an additional pair of two production lines which can be utilised as demand increases.”
Earth Energy EV has set up a 20,000 sq. ft. greenfield manufacturing facility in Maharashtra with an annual manufacturing capacity of 46,000 units. The company is also looking forward to expand to an additional 20,000 sq. ft. area as the demand grows. Local development and manufacturing is one of the main focus areas at Earth Energy EV and it has already achieved 96 per cent localisation level with its model range. This helps to keep the overall cost of the EV in check, in-turn facilitating sales growth. These vehicles are also compliant with all public charging stations being set up by both government as well as private players.
